The Monroe County Buzz highlights life in one of the most charming and beautiful counties in East Tennessee. Blessed by Mother Nature with a splendid backdrop of ancient lush mountains and sparkling streams, Monroe County seems to have it all… plenty of open space, a wonderful climate, and enough growth to sustain us without crushing us.
It’s a place that demands thoughtful reporting of news and insightful commentary without bias or rancor. There’s so much that makes up the dynamics of Monroe County – government, schools, recreation, and industry – That’s why The Buzz was conceived and birthed, so the county might be promoted and displayed with a positive look at the activities of its citizens, whether good or bad, right or wrong.
It takes a locally owned newspaper to dig out the true psyche of Monroe County and report it on a day-to-day basis.
Owners Sharon Brown and Mark Boring love Monroe County, our children were raised here and our grandchildren were born here. This is our home and we are passionate about the area and its people.
It also takes the four C’s of commitment: complete, concise, contemporary, and comprehensive local coverage of all of Monroe County.
From the Skyway to Excellence Way, from Sweetwater Creek to Tellico Lake, The BUZZ will take you from the highways to the hallways, from the boardrooms to the back rooms.
We’re daily, Monday through Friday, and Saturday and Sunday.
We are the buzz in town…The Monroe County BUZZ!
