Separate sealed bids for: Madisonville ARC Water Improvements Ð Automatic Meter Reading System Ð Contract B Ð Installation will be received by the City of Madisonville, 400 College Street, Madisonville, TN 37354, until 2:00 P.M. local time on May 15, 2014, at which time and place all Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Each bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to The Honorable Glenn Moser Ð Mayor of Madisonville. Each sealed envelope containing a bid must be plainly marked on the outside as ‘ARC Water Improvements for an Automatic Meter Reading System Ð City of Madisonville Ð Contract B Ð Installation’. Any bid for a sum in excess of $25,000.00 shall contain on the outside or exterior of the envelope of such bid the contractor’s current certificate of responsibility number, and no bid shall be opened or considered unless such contractor’s current certificate number appears on the outside or exterior of the envelope or unless there appears a statement on the outside or exterior of such envelope to the effect that the bid enclosed does not exceed $25,000.00.
The work is as follows: Installation of all meters, transmitters, GPS of Meters, installation of antenna, computer, and mobile reading system in owner vehicle.

Contract Documents, including Specifications are on file at the office of the City of Madisonville, Robert G. Campbell & Assoc. and Knoxville Builders Exchange.
Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained by depositing $150.00 with Robert G. Campbell & Associates, L.P., telephone (865) 947-5996 for each set of documents so obtained. This deposit is nonrefundable. If the contract documents are not obtained from Robert G. Campbell & Assoc., L.P., the bid will not be considered.

An irrevocable letter of credit favor of the City of Madisonville at a federally insured financial institution or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an accepted Surety, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total of the Bid shall be submitted with each bid.

Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or natural origin.

The City of Madisonville Sewer Department will be testing lines in this area on April 8 thru April 11, 2014 by use of smoke. The smoke should not enter the premises unless a leak is present. The presence of smoke in your home should be reported immediately to the personnel conducting the tests, or by calling 423-442-9416.

Avoid unnecessary exposure to the smoke. The smoke is relatively harmless but may be irritating to nasal passages. Any smoke irritation will be temporary and should quickly disappear after exposure has ceased. Persons with heart and respiratory ailments should leave the house during the test. House pets will react in a manner similar to a prudent person and leave the smoky area. If an exit is not available, be sure pets are provided with proper ventilation.
To minimize the chance of smoke entering your house, please pour water into all drains including floor drains prior to the date of the test.
City employees will be testing lines on these streets on April 8 thru April 11, 2014.

The Vonore Board of Mayor and Aldermen will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at the Vonore City Hall to discuss an ordinance to add a sales and use tax referendum to the ballot for the November 2014 election. At 6:45 p.m. there will be an ordinance reading on committing the Fire Protection Funds toward the purchase of a new fire truck.
